Update on Romans Archival Project

Back in October, I mentioned the start of the Romans archive project. Over the past months I’ve been busy doing very deep research, and in early January I have officially began work. While very far from finished, I am hereby to deliver some sneak peaks.

For the Hall of Fame page, there will be six titles (all named at the recommendation of Twitchy.) Along with those six, there are two other titles. Below is an excerpt from the WIP HoF page of all of the title descriptions.

Gloriosissimus

The highest honor available in the Romans army. It is seen as a super-legend title. These people have gone above and beyond for the Romans army, with very impactful achievements and undying loyalty. They are the most revered people in the Roman army.

Gloriossus

The second highest honor in the Roman army These people have changed Romans in a very impactful way and had very good loyalty. While not being the highest honor, ‘Gloriossus’ is the our Roman equivalent of ‘Legend’ and thus still holds high value.

Magnificus

While not a super-legend or legend title, these people are some of the most important people in Romans’ history. They have pushed heavily to change Romans and showed strong loyalty. It’s the Roman equivalent of regular second-tier legend, also called ‘Icon’.

Classimus

These people that bear this title have done a lot for the army. While being on the lower end of things, these Romans have done a lot for the army and pushed it to victories. It is an equivalent of a “Greatest Leader’ honor or third-tier legend.

Illustris

While being a lower tier, these people are seen as very loyal troops and have proved to be with Romans no matter what. They are the equivalent of ‘Notable Officers’ and a fourth-tier legend.

Spectabilis

This title is given to the best of troops for their loyalty. You can definitely one day join these people in this honor category. They are the equivalent of ‘Notable Troops’. All leaders that weren’t interim or banished are automatically inducted.

Pravus

An title given to official members of our hall-of-shame. They’re banished from rejoining the army (unless revoked) and shamed for entirety.

Gladiator

An official honor given to all recorded 2006-2008 troops, which are listed at the bottom of the page.

Already we finished most of the work for the first 3 titles. Descriptions have been written, along with their names, their “individual titles”, and portraits!

Below is the format we’ll be doing for our hall of fame, so you’ll get an idea.

Additionally, our history page will be massive. We don’t intend to miss a single piece of Roman history. Obviously, it’ll be very long, in-depth, and mammoth-sized (Mammoths looks good red, Oagal 😳) but since Romans is a mostly forgotten army, we want it to become the opposite and become one of the most detailed ones for army historians. A full, new leader list will released (with their term numbers, term length, and retiring/demotion reason) with loads of forgotten leaders, especially during the 2008-2013 period.

I’ve also gone ahead and re-added some of the old Spi era posts that got deleted when Greeny defaced in November 2014 such as his retirement and our biggest event recorded. I intend to finish that soon and add some old posts from Sarahshuga’s Romans (which is A LOT to say the least.)

Let’s make Romans great again, but not through future plans. Instead, let’s fully document Romans and show the bared greatness. Make sure to join our veteran discord if you haven’t already. Visitors and historians are welcomed.

As many have noticed, Romans have been quite dead. That is due to a magnitude of reasons: Retirements, school, internal drama, and leaking. The Senate has been considering a few options for the past few weeks. However, we have decided that Romans will not be closing. Instead, we’ll be introducing some new acts.

Declaration of the Nova Roman Empire

February 2006 marked the first Roman clans to come into Club Penguin. October 2006 marked the modernization and organization of such clans by Explorer7777. June 2007 marked the creation of the formal organization of the Roman clans into the Roman army. Throughout the years, the Romans would see several generations, wars, and eras. The Romans would close in 2016, but return in October 2017 to March 2018. This would be one of the most successful generations of Romans. This also marked it’s most successful era, the CPPS era. Such era saw the creation of the Nova Phoenix Corps in July 2018 to August, the “successor” to the Romans. This army has major influence in the current Romans. In fall 2019, the Romans would return yet again. However, after downtime, the Romans formally returned in early 2020 to April. The Romans would return yet again in July 2018. This is the current generation. But what does this mean.

The 14 year long history of Romans was designed to evolve overtime. As the years came, we become more and more innovative. Even more innovative than the biggest armies of our time. The next big innovation of our time has come. 

On behalf of Senate of the Club Penguin Romans, I, Cobra, Romans Emperor, hereby declare the creation of the Nova Roman Empire.

You may be asking – What is the Nova Roman Empire? If you were unaware, Club Penguin Romans was watched over by a Senate, which consisted of guardians from previous generations of Romans. After a time of deciding, we all decided that we will create something that will expand beyond just “Club Penguin Romans”. We designed a constitution and format for this new multi-platform community, or “empire”, if you will. With this, the Senate of the Club Penguin Romans, is now defunct, as it has became the Senate of the Nova Roman Empire. This same situation applies to the Consuls and Emperor. 

Expect big changes overtime. We are here to create a community, that stretches beyond Club Penguin Romans. I ask you all join us in this journey, as it can be great… with your devotion to such cause.

Ave, Romans!

It’s been nearly 3 months since I last posted on the Romans site. There was officially no site announcement regarding Romans’ closure, nor any liquidation arrangements. So, I thought I address all of this:

 

State of the Romans

We already announced the closure a while back on the Discord server, but for the sake of things, the Romans army is formally closed. The Romans Administration has agreed to keep Romans indefinitely dead. It is entirely possible for a Romans’ revival. However, with the state of armies, no Romans helmet, and the lack of any new blood, we won’t be allowing a Club Penguin Romans revival. So please, do note pester us for permission to revive the army. We want the preserve the legacy, not to ruin it more.

That being said, we may consider a Romans remake on other games. However, our long time partners at the Rebel Federation already cover that. We are not saying Romans cannot come back on other games, but we re-direct you to the RF for a multi-gaming experience.

 

Site Archival

I will be working on archiving most of the Romans site and make a polished, official timeline of the Romans army. This project will take awhile, but I will be having other Roman Administrators assist me with this.

Other things I’ll be archiving is the pages of the site and uploading Romans’ actual final event of this generation.

 

Nachonnian Vibes

Since Romans has a history of having Nacho-like vibes, we will be posting a shitpost every now and again. We don’t plan on condoning any harassment of any individuals. But, this is armies. Everyone’s pretty much retired. Let’s have some leisure with pleasure.

 

Roman Reunions

While we don’t plan on reviving the Romans anytime soon, this doesn’t cancel out the possibility of reunion events. These will mainly be every 2 weeks-1 month. Mainly to keep the Romans family in touch with one another.

The Romans’ reunion/veteran discord can be found here. Please note that we don’t want beggers on this discord asking for a revival. Be luckily we’re making this invite public instead of private.

 

Other Announcements

I will be making sure the Romans site stays preserved and its legacy glorified. To Twitchy; us (me, Cobra, Smurf, Games and Lynx) will do everything in our rights to not make you disappointed. We thank you for giving us the chance to all lead Romans, and we will be giving back by preserving your legacy ─ such as Dj would’ve wanted.
